About The Position

The Clerical Floater is based in the Allendale Elementary main office, working 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and supporting the Elementary Clerk. The position primarily remains in the office and focuses on greeting and assisting parents, students, and visitors. When needed, the Floater provides temporary basic front-office coverage at other district buildings, then returns to Allendale when coverage is no longer required. The Floater does not take on the covered building’s daily clerical responsibilities or administrative projects elsewhere in the building. At Allendale, the Floater provides reception and parent support, including answering incoming calls and the office door, and acts as a liaison among the school, families, staff, students, and the public. The role fills in for the Elementary Clerk as needed and handles attendance and truancy tasks, student records and file-room organization, and general clerical duties. When covering another building, the Floater answers and directs calls, greets visitors and follows check-in procedures, assists parents and students, and performs basic office tasks as directed. The position is 8 hours per day for 42 weeks per year. Hours may vary depending on the building. Pay is determined by the collective bargaining agreement; the listed new-employee Tier II hourly rates are $19.76, $20.93, $22.09, and $23.25.
