About The Position

Under the general supervision of the supervisor, the Electronics Technician will maintain and repair all electronic systems within the Housing Authority. All activities must support the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh (“HACP” or “Authority”) mission, strategic goals and objectives. The position duties and responsibilities listed below describe the general nature and scope of work. Other responsibilities, duties and skills may be required and assigned, as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma plus two years of electronics school with four years of electronics experience or any equivalent combination.
  • Working knowledge of related systems for the repair, troubleshooting, enhancements and/or installation of: Fire alarm panels (Ademco, Autocall, Simplex, Edwards, FCI, Honeywell), Burglar/Security Systems (DSC, Caddx), Camera Systems (Dedicated Micors, Pelco Panasonic, Sony), Door Entry (Keri Systems), Intercom (SES, Microm, Mitrone, Tektone), and other related systems as requested.
  • Valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Authority’s plan.
  • Good reading, writing and mathematical abilities.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes.
  • Knowledge of safety rules and practices pertaining to the trade.
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints and/or schematics.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Ability to learn other computer software programs as required by assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain fire alarm systems, burglar systems.
  • Maintain security camera systems and intercom systems.
  • Maintain and repair key card locking systems, nurses call and TV monitoring systems and cable systems.
  • Installation and trouble shoot CAT 5 & 6.
  • Run surface mount, raceway and conduit.
  • Fiber optic background and fusion/mechanical splicing experience.
