About The Position

This position is contingent upon contract award and is expected to be based in Hawthorne, Nevada. As an Electronic Technician, you will support the installation, maintenance, and repair of critical electronic systems that enable safe and efficient facility and operational performance. This role is ideal for a technically skilled professional who thrives in a safety-sensitive, mission-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable NCIC III background check.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience with documented technical training (e.g., apprenticeship), or at least one (1) year of experience as a journeyman electronics mechanic.
  • Valid state driver’s license required.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, schematics, drawings, and specifications.
  • Demonstrated expertise in using diagnostic test equipment and performing advanced troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic computer/data entry tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a technical team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with solid organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and challenging environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, install, modify, and repair a wide range of electronic equipment and systems, including: Computer-based intrusion detection and CCTV systems, Radio communication equipment, Plant fire protection systems, Audio/visual systems, motor speed controls, photocell amplifiers, electronic air filters, pyrometers, regulators, water chlorination systems, battery chargers, and automatic temperature controls.
  • Perform testing, calibration, and repair of instrumentation and control systems, including controllers, recorders, flow meters, transmitters, fluid control devices, solid-state components, and boiler/material handling control systems.
  • Operate and maintain diagnostic and test equipment such as multimeters (VOM, VTVM, DVM), power meters, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, and signal generators.
  • Support electrical safety by identifying, locating, and clearing underground power and signal cables (up to 4,160 volts) prior to excavation activities.
  • Maintain and service railroad crossing signal systems at designated locations.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations.
  • Accurately document completed work and maintain accountability for assigned tools and equipment.
  • Provide operational support in environments adjacent to chemical and munitions demilitarization facilities.
  • Identify, report, and mitigate potential safety and environmental hazards.
  • Support bid and proposal efforts as requested.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support mission and operational requirements.
