About The Position

This role is responsible for establishing and assigning daily, weekly, and monthly routine maintenance schedules, coordinating machine downtime with the Production Manager or Superintendent, and maintaining inventory of parts and supplies with a focus on cost control within an established budget. The position involves scheduling work, coordinating production activities, providing direct oversight of employees, approving time records, and implementing company policy. It also includes engaging in employee development, making recommendations for hiring, promotion, and disciplinary actions, and ensuring predictive and preventive maintenance programs are accomplished and repairs are completed in a timely manner to meet production and profitability objectives. The role involves establishing and maintaining a maintenance budget, recommending capital improvements, and assisting the Production Manager in the design and installation of new equipment. The Electrical Supervisor/Planner ensures the maintenance crew understands and can troubleshoot all corrugator jobs and is fully trained on mechanical and electrical repairs, equipment use, adjustments, and unique situations. A key responsibility is maintaining a clean, safe, and injury-free work environment by ensuring health and safety procedures are understood and executed by all employees. The position requires participation in production meetings, providing updates as needed, upgrading existing electrical systems, and improving process reliability through electrical enhancements. Collaboration with Engineering is essential to ensure capital projects are installed with maintenance concerns addressed. The role supervises all personnel assigned to the Electrical Department, issues requisitions for necessary repair parts and supplies not furnished by the Central Storeroom or Engineering, and directs the administration of company policies and programs related to performance, training, safety, and morale. Cooperation in establishing and continuing a safety program to educate workers in safe work methods and a comprehensive knowledge of possible safety hazards in the mill is required. Accurate and up-to-date maintenance records and information on all machinery, equipment, and buildings must be maintained. The role also involves coordinating activities with outside contractors and covering Instrumentation Maintenance Engineer's responsibilities as required, with weekend/after-hours call coverage on a rotating basis.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years’ previous experience in industry.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Previous supervisory experience in coaching, training, teambuilding, performance development, and conflict resolution.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Solid analytical, mechanical, and mathematical skills.
  • Solid working knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance of corrugated and packaging equipment.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing systems including shop floor software.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous details, deadlines, and requests.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple projects and/or requests concurrently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals throughout the company on departmental procedures, policies, practices, and requests for information.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively lead and communicate with production team and management.
  • Previous work experience as a member of a team, or a strong understanding of the importance of open communication and information sharing between team members.
