About The Position

The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all electrical construction activities on power generation projects. This role requires extensive experience in industrial construction and gas turbine simple-cycle and combined-cycle power facilities. The Superintendent ensures electrical work is executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications, codes, and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in electrical or heavy industrial construction, with direct power generation experience
  • Proven experience on gas turbine simple-cycle and combined-cycle power plants
  • Strong hands-on and supervisory experience with: Electrical power distribution systems, Cable tray, conduit, and raceway installation, Medium- and low-voltage systems, Switchgear, transformers, and MCC installations, Startup and commissioning support
  • Prior experience as an Electrical Superintendent or General Foreman on large-scale projects
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and electrical safety standards
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, schematics, and specifications
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality

Nice To Haves

  • NCCER certification or equivalent trade credentials
  • Experience working on utility-scale or large industrial power projects
  • Familiarity with union and non-union work environments
  • Experience with new construction and EPC projects

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise all electrical craft personnel, foremen, and general foremen on site
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate electrical work activities in alignment with the overall project schedule
  • Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of: Power distribution systems, Cable tray and conduit systems, Control wiring and instrumentation support, Switchgear, transformers, MCCs, and substations, Grounding systems and lighting installations, Turbine and balance-of-plant electrical systems
  • Coordinate closely with project management, engineering, quality, safety, and other craft disciplines
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, NFPA, site-specific rules)
  • Conduct daily job briefings, toolbox talks, and pre-task planning
  • Monitor productivity, manpower loading, and material usage; adjust plans as needed to meet schedule milestones
  • Review drawings, specifications, one-lines, and work packages to ensure proper execution
  • Interface with inspectors, client representatives, vendors, and commissioning teams as required
  • Identify and resolve field issues, constructability concerns, and work conflicts
  • Enforce quality control standards, testing requirements, and electrical code compliance
  • Support startup, commissioning, energization, and turnover activities as required
