About The Position

An Industrial Electrician Foreman is a senior field supervisor who leads the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in industrial facilities such as manufacturing plants, power plants, process plants, and mining operations. This role blends technical expertise with leadership skills to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable codes and standards. Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment, such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers, following electrical code and blueprints, using hand tools and voltage tester.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four (4) years or more of refinery maintenance/turnaround/or construction experience.
  • Good understanding of the craft environment being supervised and knowledge of basic hand tools.
  • Must be able to pass the Craft Skills Test at or above 70% or have an NCCER certification for your craft.
  • Must have a good understanding of Matrix Service policies and procedures.
  • Must Completed the Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training, S.T.A.R.T. Class and Client / Site specific training.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active status in a drug testing program.

Nice To Haves

  • May be required to hold electrician’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a crew of electricians, apprentices, and helpers, assigning tasks based on skill level.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications to plan work sequences, material needs, and installation layouts.
  • Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using test equipment, and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Tests malfunctioning machinery, using test equipment, and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers to diagnose malfunction.
  • Replaces faulty electrical components of machine, such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.
  • Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
  • Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors.
  • May plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
  • May diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  • Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
  • Perform all other job related duties as requested by supervision.
