Electrical Engineering Co-op (Spring 2027)

Emerson•Elyria, OH
•$24 - $28

About The Position

Emerson is hiring an Electrical Engineering Co-op for Spring 2027. Co-ops receive meaningful work, support, and mentorship from experienced managers and business leaders, and may explore work related to their major while rotating through multiple departments. Assignments vary based on academic achievement and may include an engineering lab, computer-aided engineering (CAE), and product engineering. In the lab, the co-op assists with hands-on feasibility studies and competitive evaluations, learns to use lab equipment, analyzes test data, and presents test results. In CAE, the co-op supports the design and development of new products alongside designers, drafters, and engineers. In product engineering, the co-op works with product development engineers on new projects and gains exposure to engineering analysis, failure analysis, finite element analysis, and the product development process. The role involves testing with lab equipment, building circuit-board prototypes using through-hole and surface-mount technologies, creating schematics and PCB layouts in CAD, learning C programming for microcontrollers, and designing, building, and testing complete circuit boards. The position pays $24–$28 per hour, commensurate with school year and experience. Work authorization sponsorship is not provided.
