The Systems Engineering Team is responsible for developing leading-edge technology solutions that support the full portfolio of Silicon Products at Applied Materials. As a senior member of this team, you will serve as a key Electrical Engineering expert, driving the design, development, integration, and validation of advanced electrical systems that enable next-generation semiconductor equipment. This role is focused on solving complex electrical engineering challenges across advanced controls, power electronics, sensor technologies, plasma systems, signal integrity, electrical architectures, and innovative hardware solutions. You will partner closely with Engineering Centers of Excellence (CoEs) and cross-functional teams to translate emerging concepts into robust, production-ready electrical designs. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • 10–15 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably involving complex electromechanical systems, controls, power electronics, or semiconductor equipment.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership and recognized expertise in electrical system design and development.
  • Strong experience designing, implementing, debugging, and validating electrical hardware from concept through production.
  • Expertise in electrical schematics, system integration, hardware troubleshooting, and laboratory validation.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Deep expertise in one or more of the following areas: Power electronics, Electrical system architecture, Controls engineering, Sensor integration, Analog and digital circuit design, High-voltage or high-power systems, Plasma power delivery systems
  • Experience developing electrical systems for semiconductor capital equipment or other highly complex industrial systems.
  • Ability to influence technology strategy, technical direction, and engineering roadmaps.
  • Broad understanding of multidisciplinary engineering environments, including mechanical, software, systems, and controls engineering.
  • Proven track record of delivering innovative electrical engineering solutions from concept through hardware implementation and qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, analysis, and implementation of complex electrical engineering solutions for semiconductor equipment and technology platforms.
  • Drive electrical architecture, circuit design, power distribution, controls integration, sensor systems, and hardware validation activities.
  • Develop innovative electrical designs and solutions for advanced controls, power systems, plasma sources, sensing technologies, and other critical subsystems.
  • Serve as the technical lead for electrical engineering initiatives, research activities, and new technology development programs.
  • Perform detailed electrical analysis, modeling, simulation, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigations for complex system-level challenges.
  • Generate and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, interface definitions, test plans, and engineering documentation.
  • Define, coordinate, execute, and document electrical design verification and validation testing.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate electrical designs into larger system architectures.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, reliability, and capability.
  • Lead technical reviews and provide mentorship to engineers and project teams in electrical engineering best practices.
  • Work directly in laboratory environments to prototype, test, iterate, and optimize electrical hardware solutions.
