About The Position

Mercury Systems is seeking a recent college graduate to join our Rotational Engineering Program, a dynamic opportunity to develop cutting-edge technology that supports the American Warfighter. As an Electrical REP Engineer, you'll join a collaborative Electrical Engineering design team focused on Microelectronics and Space applications. This role offers hands-on experience on architectural, schematic, layout design for high reliability ruggedized and such as System in Package flip chip applications and radiation tolerant Space Drive products. Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering obtained between May 2026 and June 2027
  • A minimum GPA of 3.1 is required. You will be asked to submit your transcripts during the application process
  • Prior Co-Op or internship experience in an engineering or electronics-focused environment
  • Foundational understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles
  • Experience using schematic capture and PCB design tools (Altium, Cadence, Mentor Graphics, etc.)
  • Familiarity with SPICE-based circuit simulation tools such as PSpice or LTspice
  • Hands-on electronics lab experience, including use of oscilloscopes, power supplies, and logic analyzers
  • Ability to interpret and work with engineering documentation (schematics, specifications, test results)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills supported by academic or project work
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for technical and cross-functional collaboration
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to quickly learn new tools, technologies, and engineering concepts

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or project experience in RF, high-speed digital, or power electronics
  • Exposure to radiation-tolerant or space-grade component selection and design practices
  • Experience with Python or MATLAB for data analysis, automation, or test scripting
  • Familiarity with reliability engineering concepts such as derating, thermal analysis, or failure modes
  • Knowledge of embedded systems or firmware fundamentals
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git
  • Prior experience working with DoD or aerospace hardware (even through school projects)
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes for electronics (SMT, inspection, packaging)

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and development of microelectronics modules, including schematic capture, PCB layout review, and component selection
  • Perform hands-on lab testing, including board bring-up, debugging, and verification of high-reliability electronics
  • Assist in developing System-in-Package (SiP) and flip-chip solutions through collaboration with packaging, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering teams
  • Analyze circuit performance using simulation tools and document results for design reviews
  • Contribute to radiation-tolerant electronics development for Space Drives and other aerospace applications
  • Participate in peer design reviews and provide constructive technical feedback
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, including test procedures, test reports, and design artifacts
  • Work closely with cross-functional engineering groups to understand requirements, constraints, and program objectives
  • Support prototype builds, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis to improve design robustness
  • Learn Mercury engineering processes, tools, and high-reliability design methodologies through structured development activities
