About The Position

The Duke Energy Nuclear Fleet Corporate Design Engineering (CDE) department serves as the Design Authority for six nuclear sites and executes a fleet portfolio of design solutions supporting risk reduction, equipment obsolescence, and plant modernization. The Robinson Nuclear Station CDE team manages the capital engineering change portfolio at the Robinson site in Hartsville, South Carolina. The electrical team is hiring an Electrical Design Engineer III or Senior Electrical Design Engineer. This is an advancing-level engineering role involving increasingly complex problems and work performed with limited supervision. The successful candidate will develop design changes and provide technical expertise across electrical systems, coordinate and manage engineering work, and prepare technical documentation. The position is typically based in an office, with plant work for system walkdowns and field support. After onboarding, work is hybrid, with an average of two full workdays per regular workweek at the assigned facility. Employees must live within a reasonable commute, no greater than 50 miles one way. The work week is Monday through Thursday, with 10-hour days. The role may include Emergency Response Organization responsibilities, including callouts with a defined response time and an on-call duty rotation. Additional hours are expected during scheduled refueling outages, and occasional overnight travel is required. Travel is 5–15%. Relocation assistance may be provided as applicable.
