About The Position

The Electrical Engineering Department is seeking highly qualified candidates for multiple tenure-track professorial positions. Successful applicants will be expected to excel in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, develop a strong externally funded research program, and participate in citizenship and administrative duties both to their academic societies and at BYU. Initial rank will be consistent with qualifications and experience. We seek highly-qualified applicants in all sub-disciplines of electrical and computer engineering. The department maintains strong research programs and state-of-the-art facilities spanning computing, computer vision, optics and photonics, microelectronic fabrication, unmanned aircraft systems, robotics, underwater vehicles, FPGA-based and high-performance embedded computing, high-speed low-power electronics, digital communications systems, signal processing, biomedical imaging, microfluidics, and electromagnetics. We welcome candidates who will complement these existing strengths as well as those who will open new directions with strong scholarly impact. The department offers BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering and in Computer Engineering, and a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Requirements

  • A doctoral degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or closely related discipline is required
  • The required degree must be completed by the start date.
  • Must enthusiastically embrace and energetically advance BYU's unique mission.
  • Must support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrine of the affiliated church.
  • Must abide by the university’s Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.
