About The Position

Brigham Young University (BYU) is seeking to hire two full-time faculty members for the Computer Science department. The primary responsibility of these roles is to teach undergraduate classes, create experiential learning opportunities such as capstone projects, and innovate in curriculum and pedagogy. The faculty members will also lead department efforts to educate undergraduates in Computer Science. This position requires the successful candidate to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment. Requirements

  • Ph.D. in computer science or a related field, or MS in computer science/closely related field.
  • Required degree must be completed by the start date.
  • Candidates without a Ph.D. should have 10 years or more of experience in a leadership or advanced technical role in software engineering or a related field (e.g., Principal Engineer, Architect, Chief Technology Officer, or Founder).
  • Successful candidates are expected to support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrine of the affiliated church.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with modern AI-based software engineering methodologies is strongly preferred.
  • Preference is given to qualified candidates who are members in good standing of the affiliated church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
