About The Position

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Brigham Young University is seeking up to two Professorial faculty candidates who will challenge our talented student body and contribute to our teaching and research initiatives. Professorial candidates in all areas of expertise will be considered. Successful candidates will be expected to develop an outstanding and impactful research program and to embrace the department’s focus on excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentoring. Professorial candidates will be hired at the assistant professor, associate professor, or professor level depending on experience. Requirements

  • Doctorate in mechanical engineering or closely related field.
  • Willingness to fully support and participate in the ideals and mission of BYU.
  • Strong research plan and record commensurate with experience.
  • Desire and ability to effectively teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.
  • Abide by the university’s Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.
