About The Position

Baptist Medical Center is seeking a part-time, day-shift EKG/Stress Technician for the Diagnostic Cardiology Unit at Baptist South in Jacksonville, Florida. The technician performs EKGs and supports regular, nuclear, and echocardiogram stress testing, providing accurate testing, attentive patient care, and support to the cardiology team.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• 1–2 years of experience.
• Experience performing EKGs.
• Experience performing Holter applications.

Nice To Haves

• Associate of Science degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Place leads and perform EKGs accurately, ensuring clear tracings and high-quality results for physician interpretation.
• Maintain organized work logs and send orders and completed studies to reading physicians promptly.
• Prepare patients for regular, nuclear, and echo stress tests by prepping skin, ensuring comfort, and providing clear instructions.
• Place monitors, obtain vital signs, observe patient status, and promptly report abnormal findings to supervising clinicians.
• Assist and reassure patients during stress testing, providing clinical support and compassionate care.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other cardiology team members to support patient care and departmental standards.
• Follow safety and infection-control protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
