BLOX is creating the tools to convert a resistant Architecture Engineering and Construction Industry into a smart and efficient machine. For those motivated to play a part in that change, this is an exciting time at BLOX. In short, BLOX takes the most complicated parts of a hospital – headwalls, surgery ceilings, MEP racks, Central Energy Plants, exam rooms, bathrooms, etc. - designs them so that they can be removed from conventional construction, manufactures them as modules, transports and inserts them into the construction process to yield higher quality buildings that open significantly faster than those conventionally constructed. BLOX is both service and product that includes architecture, engineering, manufacturing, logistics and construction. BLOX is a modular construction manufacturer running heavy industrial processes at scale — structural steel fabrication, welding, crane and rigging operations, powered industrial trucks, straddle carriers, module assembly lines, and finish trades, all under one roof in Bessemer, AL. Our EHS program operates under both OSHA 1910 and 1926, and nearly everything is done in-house: incident investigation, training delivery, industrial hygiene, program development, inspections, and workers' compensation case management. We do not outsource our safety program to consultants. As the EHS Manager, you will own day-to-day execution of the manufacturing EHS program, reporting to the VP of Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability. The VP sets strategy and direction across manufacturing, field construction, and logistics; you make the program run on the floor every day — managing the manufacturing EHS team, keeping the corrective-action cascade moving, closing incidents with real root causes, and holding the standard when production pressure pushes against it. This is a floor-based leadership role, not an office job.
