Howmet Structure Systems is currently seeking an experienced College Intern to join our team in Martinsville, Virginia for a 3-month summer term. Our EHS Internship Program is designed to provide challenging EHS assignments to university students who are pursuing a degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Fire Protection or Environmental Science. Activities completed during our EHS internship program are designed to provide practical application of techniques and contribute to business results.
Requirements
- Candidates must be pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Candidates must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
- This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.

Responsibilities
- Assist with development and implementation of EHS policy and procedures
- Conduct fatality prevention assessments
- Conduct industrial hygiene and ventilation assessments
- Assist with development and implementation of sustainability initiatives
- Conduct environmental compliance related activities
- Develop and conduct employee training
- Assist with continuous improvement projects
