About The Position

Apple’s Environmental Compliance team advances the company’s environmental stewardship through waste management and regulatory compliance programs. The Program Lead, Global Waste Compliance will build and lead comprehensive programs to ensure regulatory compliance across Apple’s worldwide operations. The role develops global waste compliance strategies, creates tools and systems to monitor adherence, and works with regional teams, facility managers, environmental partners, and other stakeholders to establish scalable, consistent practices that support Apple’s environmental goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field.
• Five or more years of experience building and leading environmental compliance programs.
• Demonstrated experience developing compliance tools and tracking systems.
• Knowledge of international waste regulations and compliance requirements.
• Strong project management experience and ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to translate technical requirements for diverse audiences.
• Experience working and communicating with all levels of an organization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with data-driven decision-making capabilities.
• Proactive, responsive, upbeat, and highly organized.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced degree in Environmental Science, Law, or a related field.
• Seven or more years of environmental compliance experience, focused on waste management.
• Ability to quickly grasp new technology and complex workflows.
• Success managing compliance programs across multiple countries or regions.
• Experience with environmental management systems and compliance software platforms.
• Professional certification in environmental compliance or waste management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive global waste compliance programs from initiation to completion.
• Build and deploy compliance tools and tracking systems to monitor regulatory adherence across facilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver consistent compliance standards and best practices.
• Prepare and present compliance strategies, risk assessments, and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Maintain current knowledge of evolving international, federal, and local waste regulations.
• Build and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, waste vendors, and internal partners.
• Lead training initiatives so facility teams understand and implement compliance requirements.
• Use data analysis and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement in waste compliance processes.
