Young Community Developers (YCD) is a nonprofit organization established in 1973, dedicated to serving residents of all ages in San Francisco's most underserved communities. YCD employs a holistic strategy through a service ecosystem designed to foster economic mobility, build sustainable communities, and provide educational opportunities and workforce development training. The organization's philosophy centers on the belief that every individual has the right to sustainable, generational economic mobility, aiming to break the cycle of poverty. Annually, YCD assists approximately 1,200 community members with employment and training services through its programs and partnerships. YCD has also been recognized by Non-Profit Times as one of the top 50 best non-profits to work for in the United States. The 100% College Prep Institute (100%) is a college preparatory organization for school-aged youth, focused on equipping underserved students with academic and leadership skills, and providing support for post-secondary educational success. This project delivers on-site resident services to the Alice Griffith community, emphasizing resident engagement, community building, and connections to support services, particularly for families with elementary and middle school-aged children. The program adopts a holistic approach to educational success through outreach, community events, collaboration with local partners, and consistent presence at community meetings. Services funded by this grant are accessible to all San Franciscans who meet the criteria, irrespective of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or national origin.
