About The Position

Douglass Community Services, Inc. is seeking a knowledgeable and mission-driven Education Administrator to support high-quality early childhood education across our Head Start and Early Head Start programs. This leadership role oversees education, disabilities, mental health, and coaching systems that ensure children receive the strongest possible foundation for lifelong learning. In this role, you will coach and support staff, strengthen program quality, and help ensure children and families are connected to the services and supports they need to thrive.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required
  • Strong knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and early childhood development best practices
  • Ability to analyze data, monitor compliance, and support program improvement efforts
  • Strong communication, leadership, organization, and conflict management skills
  • Proficiency with computer systems, reporting tools, and documentation requirements
  • Ability to build positive relationships with staff, families, and community partners
  • Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and agency mission and values
  • Ability to complete required trainings (CLASS, curriculum reliability, CPR, First Aid) within established timelines

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching children birth–5 strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of early childhood development best practices
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, or staff development preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Education, Disabilities, Mental Health, and Coaching services across Head Start and Early Head Start programs to ensure high-quality service delivery
  • Ensure full compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Develop, implement, and refine policies, procedures, and tools to support program quality and consistency
  • Coach, mentor, and support teaching staff to strengthen instructional practices and improve classroom outcomes
  • Monitor child screenings, referrals, and follow-up services to ensure timely and appropriate supports for children and families
  • Analyze program data, including PIR and other reports, to track progress, ensure accuracy, and support continuous improvement
  • Support implementation of curriculum and trauma-informed practices, including participation in the Trauma Smart initiative
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with staff, families, and community partners while ensuring confidentiality and mandated reporting compliance
