About The Position

Douglass Community Services, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Education Administrator to oversee and strengthen high-quality early childhood education services across our Head Start and Early Head Start programs. This leadership role is responsible for guiding education, disabilities, mental health, and coaching systems that support children’s development and family engagement. This position plays a critical role in ensuring children receive safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environments while supporting staff through coaching, mentoring, and ongoing professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required
  • Strong knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and early childhood development best practices
  • Ability to analyze data and support program improvement
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with computer systems and reporting tools
  • Ability to build positive relationships with staff and families
  • Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and agency values
  • Ability to complete required trainings (CLASS, CPR, First Aid, curriculum reliability) within required timelines

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching children birth–5 strongly preferred
  • Experience in coaching or staff development preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Education, Disabilities, Mental Health, and Coaching services across Head Start and Early Head Start programs
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and tools aligned with Head Start Performance Standards and regulations
  • Monitor program implementation across designated centers/sites to ensure quality and compliance
  • Coach, mentor, and support education staff to strengthen instructional practice and program outcomes
  • Ensure child screenings, referrals, and follow-ups are completed in a timely manner
  • Collect, analyze, and report program data (including PIR) to support planning and improvement
  • Support curriculum implementation and trauma-informed practices, including Trauma Smart participation
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with staff, families, and community partners
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure mandated reporting compliance
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training
