About The Position

This position is for an ED Primary/Cross Categorical Intervention Specialist serving students with Mild/Moderate and Moderate/Intensive needs at Cherry Valley Elementary. The specialist will work with students with a variety of handicapping conditions as well as at-risk students within an intervention or inclusion setting. The role involves identifying individual student needs, differentiating instruction, developing targeted learning plans, and monitoring progress using student data. The specialist will also design and implement behavior management strategies and collaborate with various stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid Ohio Education of the Handicapped license with SLD, CD validation (candidates with multiple special education validations preferred) or Intervention Specialist: Mild – Moderate/Moderate-Intensive.
  • Demonstrate the ability to identify individual student needs.
  • Demonstrate the ability to differentiate instruction.
  • Demonstrate the ability to efficiently use student data to determine individual needs, develop targeted learning plans, and monitor ongoing progress.
  • Demonstrate the ability to serve students with a variety of handicapping conditions as well as at-risk students within an intervention or inclusion setting.
  • Demonstrate the ability to design and implement a variety of behavior management strategies.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to collaborate with parents, special and regular education staff, students, related service personnel and community agencies in the delivery of services to students with disabilities.
  • Demonstrate the ability to be objective and flexible, to students with disabilities.
  • Be acceptable to the Building Principal, Director of Student Services and Assistant Superintendent of Certificated/Licensed Personnel.
