About The Position

The Echocardiogram Technologist plays a critical role in the healthcare team by performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations of the heart to assist physicians in diagnosing cardiac conditions. Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited cardiovascular technology or diagnostic medical sonography program with a focus on echocardiography.
  • Certification as an Echocardiography Technologist (RDCS) or equivalent credential from a recognized professional body such as the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • Valid state licensure or certification as required by the state of employment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology relevant to echocardiography.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and healthcare team members.
  • Technical skills daily to operate sophisticated ultrasound equipment and capture precise cardiac images essential for diagnosis.
  • Strong analytical skills are applied to assess image quality and recognize abnormalities that require further medical evaluation.
  • Effective communication skills are critical when explaining procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort, and collaborating with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities
