Requirements

  • Minimum three (3) years Community College Diploma in (Microbiology, Biochemistry, Specialty Technologist Programs), plus a minimum of eighteen (18) months of previous relevant work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Microbiology and Aseptic Processing.
  • Familiarity with using the following: Sterile Filters/Filter Equipment, Integrity Tester, MAS Air Sampler, Met One Particle Counter, Tube Welder/Sealer, Tachometer.
  • Ability to communicate across departments and to write SOPs, SWIs and CCRs.
  • Strong Organizational and Planning skills.
  • Adequate Computer skills and familiarity with SAP and LIMS.

  • Preferred four (4) years Bachelor's Degree (Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Microbiology, General Science), plus a minimum one (1) year of previous relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Adsorption of Purified Antigens
  • Preparation of detailed calculations for adsorption of purified concentrates
  • Operator for the adsorption of purified antigens
  • Operator for the dispensing of Adsorbed antigens
  • Operator for the completion and checking of Adsorption BPRs.
  • Operator for the completion and checking of Dispensing BPRs
  • Responsible for the inventory, maintenance and preparations of adjuvants and toxoid concentrates
  • Trainer for Adsorption processes
  • Aseptic techniques using tube welder technology
  • Diluting, pooling, filtering, transferring or weighing of volumes up to 150 litres of critical, limited expensive concentrates
  • Clean Room work and tasks within critical work conditions and environment
  • Set up of clean room, environmental sampler, room preparation, disinfection of room after completion of job
  • Preparation, inspection and release of adsorption equipment for concentrate process
  • Clean Room Maintenance
  • Preparation of QO approved disinfectants for cleaning applications
  • Preparation of rooms (including clean rooms) for sampling and environmental monitoring
  • Prepare and sample EM as outlined by SOP.
  • Monitor and perform EM as required per product, per week, bi-weekly, per month
  • Order EM plates and swabs
  • Entry of EM in Master Entry and review of data in Pharmnet Web
  • Delivery of EM samples
  • Sampling of Bulk intermediates and concentrates
  • Operations using aseptic techniques
  • Tube welder technology is used throughout sampling
  • Preparation of LIMS applications, labels, test samples, preparation of Kjeldahl samples and calculations/supplement sheets
  • Maintenance of reference and official reserve samples, entering samples into sample logbooks
  • Laboratory Maintenance, Parts, Inventories
  • Maintenance of the inventory of antigen concentrates
  • Execution of validated mixing as per license requirements
  • Maintenance of inventory on glass, bottles, sample containers, filters
  • Maintenance and order of sterile tanks, bottles, and connections
  • Production Planning/Office Duties
  • Assist with the daily and weekly production plan with the management and area TGL
  • SAP transactions, confirmations, BPR order requests and scheduling
  • Performs cycle counts to keep SAP inventories at 98% accuracy
  • Confirm materials and receive orders 98% on time
  • Transfer of material via SAP system
  • Equipment Preparation
  • Prepare equipment and filters used during adsorptions
  • Set up sterile and screen filters, interact with Washing and Sterilizing personnel
  • Check incoming or outgoing tanks and equipment for integrity, breaches, anomalies, mixers
  • Perform additional tasks as requested by Management
