About The Position

Five Below is hiring seasonal, part-time associates for the busy holiday season, October through January. The role supports the store by providing customer service, driving sales, keeping merchandise organized and stocked, and delivering smooth checkout experiences. Associates work with customers and teammates to support store and company objectives. The Store Manager may assign additional responsibilities based on store needs.

Requirements

• At least 16 years old.
• Available to work a flexible schedule, including day, evening, weekend, and potentially overnight shifts; travel may be required as needed.
• Comfortable using or willing to learn technology such as computers, cash registers, handheld devices, and mobile devices.
• Able to communicate effectively and engage with customers.
• Able to handle customer interactions and concerns courteously and professionally.
• Able to gather basic information to solve problems.
• Able to learn procedural knowledge through on-the-job training.
• Able to frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds and place or remove merchandise at heights of 5–10 feet.
• Able to frequently climb and descend ladders, kneel, bend, twist, stoop, and move between the sales floor and stock room.
• Able to communicate and exchange accurate information with customers, managers, and coworkers in person and by telephone.
• Able to identify and understand email and printed instructions about merchandise layouts, schedules, and operating procedures.
• Able to remain stationary in an upright position for 80% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Greet and acknowledge customers promptly, provide assistance, and handle multiple customer interactions efficiently.
• Assess and meet customer needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, directing customers to merchandise, and making recommendations.
• Use suggestive selling and stay informed about product availability.
• Inform customers about store events, promotions, and special activities.
• Address customer concerns and offer solutions using product knowledge, aiming to convert returns into exchanges when appropriate.
• Notify management about restocking needs, service requirements, and customer feedback.
• Collaborate with the team to support store and company goals and maintain a positive, productive work environment.
• Operate registers and other devices, move and stock merchandise, and assist customers across the sales floor and stock room.
