About The Position

Join our ParentChild+ team as an Early Learning Specialist, where you'll partner directly with families of young children to build a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Through home visits, relationship-building, and hands-on coaching, you'll help parents become their child's first and most important teacher while supporting school readiness, language development, and positive family engagement. This is more than a home visiting role. It's an opportunity to empower families, celebrate diverse cultures, and help children thrive during the most critical years of development.

Requirements

  • Education and/or experience in early childhood education, family support, social services, education, child development, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated commitment to culturally responsive and family-centered practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid NYS Driver's License and reliable transportation to conduct home visits throughout the community.
  • Ability to enter and conduct visits in home settings that may not meet Federal accessibility standards for disabled individuals.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills and comfort documenting services electronically.

  • Experience working with young children and families preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build meaningful, long-term relationships with families of children ages 18 months to 4 years.
  • Conduct engaging home visits that model simple, effective ways parents can promote learning through books, play, and everyday interactions.
  • Inspire a love of learning by providing books and educational materials that help families create enriching home learning environments.
  • Support children's language, cognitive, and social-emotional development while promoting school readiness.
  • Use a strengths-based approach that recognizes and builds upon each family's unique abilities and experiences.
  • Serve families from diverse backgrounds, including immigrant and under-resourced communities, with culturally responsive practices.
  • Help connect families to community resources and supports when needed.
  • Participate in outreach, recruitment, training, and team collaboration to expand the program's impact.
