About The Position

An Early Intervention Service Coordinator provides intake and ongoing assessments of infants and toddlers (0 to 3 years of age) eligible for Early Intervention Services under California Early Start program mandates. You will assist eligible children and their families with the coordination of other resources, in development of an Individualized Family Service Plan and participate in periodic reviews of the IFSP every six months or more frequently if conditions warrant and take an active role in transition services for toddlers. You will provide service coordination to assist the families in accessing services necessary to enhance the development of the child and the capacity of the family to meet the needs of the child. You may participate in educational and prevention out-reach activities and serve as liaison to other community organizations that work with populations at high risk for having a developmental disability.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work or a related field from an accredited university; OR be a credentialed Speech Pathologist or Nurse with a PHN or PNP certification.
  • Three years of experience in working with children in early intervention agencies and resources.
  • A bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience in a professional position at NBRC or another California Regional Center with child case carrying responsibility can be substituted for the above.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development.
  • Ability to provide transportation during working hours and after-hours emergencies or access to another form of reliable transportation which meets requirements.
  • Ability to provide minimum legal automobile liability insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
  • Specialized skills (such as language abilities) may allow for waiver of minimum qualifications depending on agency need.

Responsibilities
