Early Intervention Service Coordinator

State of North CarolinaSmithfield, NC
Hybrid

About The Position

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest, most complex agencies in the state, with approximately 17,000 employees. It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence. The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct service coordination to children and families enrolled in or referred to the NC Infant/Toddler Program. Services must be provided in compliance with Federal and State regulations for the Infant/Toddler Program. EI Service Coordinators (EISCs) are crucial to Early Intervention, providing service coordination for children in the NC Infant-Toddler Program and support to their families and caregivers. Research indicates that the birth-to-three period is critical for working with families to support their competence and confidence as their child’s first and most important teacher, offering a window of opportunity to positively impact a child's development and learning. EISCs typically have the flexibility of telework and a hybrid workplace. The Division of Child and Family Well-Being (DCFW) brings together complementary NC Department of Health and Human services to support North Carolina’s children growing up safe, healthy, and thriving in nurturing and resilient families and communities.
