About The Position

The Greater Missoula Family YMCA is hiring a part-time Assistant Teacher to help teachers organize and lead daily activities for infants, toddlers, and pre-kindergarten children. The role supports implementation of the program curriculum and learning environment, providing high-quality, developmentally appropriate experiences that meet the needs of children and families. Applicants should be team-oriented, dependable, caring, able to thrive in the distinctive environment of a nonprofit community-service organization, and able to work with limited supervision. The position is non-exempt and has a 12-month introductory probationary period. Starting wage is $16.00 per hour or dependent on experience.

Requirements

• Must have current CPR and First Aid certification, or obtain them within the first 30 days of employment; training is available at the Y.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a licensed childcare facility, or college-level coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Psychology.
• One to two years of experience in child care or working with children.
