EARLY CHILDHOOD ED ASSISTANT TEACHER - Part Time
About The Position
The Greater Missoula Family YMCA is hiring part-time Assistant Teachers for its Early Childcare Education Learning Center. The role supports teachers in organizing and leading daily activities for infants, toddlers, and pre-kindergarten children up to age five. Assistant Teachers help implement the program curriculum and learning environment, providing high-quality, developmentally appropriate experiences that meet the needs of children and families. Applicants should be team-oriented, dependable, caring, comfortable engaging with young children, and able to work with limited supervision in a nonprofit community service organization. The position is non-exempt and classified as Y Job Grade 4. The starting wage is $16.00 per hour or based on experience. Employees are subject to a 12-month introductory probationary period. The role reports to the Childcare Center Director.
Requirements
- Must have current CPR and First Aid certification or obtain it within the first 30 days of employment; training is available at the YMCA.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a licensed childcare facility, or college-level coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Psychology.
- One to two years of experience in childcare or working with children.
