About The Position

The Early Childhood Connector is a place-based role that supports children aged eight years and under with developmental delay and/or autism with low to moderate support needs, and their families, carers and kin, to access information, supports and services that promote positive developmental outcomes. To be embedded within existing child, family and community services across Tasmania, the Early Childhood Connector provides information, advice, navigation and pathway support to families, helping them understand available options and connect with appropriate services.

Requirements

• Demonstrated understanding of the importance of the early years in influencing lifelong learning, health and wellbeing outcomes.
• Demonstrated understanding of the needs, challenges and strengths of children, families and communities.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders, groups and individuals.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with team members and community partners to organise and coordinate activities that promote and support community engagement.
• Proven interpersonal skills including high level communication, initiative, self-motivation and capacity for innovation.
• Ability to work effectively and flexibly in a team environment and positively with families and communities.
• Ability to work effectively with First Nation families, culturally and linguistically diverse groups and other vulnerable groups and individuals.
• Current Tasmanian Registration to work with Vulnerable Children.

Nice To Haves

• A diploma, advanced diploma, or equivalent qualification in social work, community development, community services or a related discipline
• Current Drivers Licence
