About The Position

The Family Violence Counselling and Support Service (FVCSS) offers specialized counseling and support to adults, children, and young people who have experienced family violence. This service is part of the Safe at Home initiative, prioritizing the safety and well-being of victim survivors. The Clinical Lead will provide high-level clinical leadership, professional support, and day-to-day management and coordination of statewide services in accordance with Agency policy and legal requirements.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of family violence issues.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in the clinical and/or therapeutic management of family violence clients with complex care needs.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with family members and other service providers.
  • Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice and child and family-centered outcomes.
  • High-level understanding of the strategic, legal, and ethical issues relevant to FVCSS.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective professional and clinical leadership.
  • Knowledge of contemporary management practices and quality improvement processes.
  • Experience motivating staff members and supporting skill development through teaching, supervision, training, and mentoring.
  • Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant Board or eligible for membership of the relevant professional association.
  • Significant experience in Family Violence Support Services including knowledge of relevant legislation and therapeutic modalities for trauma resolution.
  • Working with Vulnerable People Registration (WWVPR).

Nice To Haves

  • Postgraduate studies in relevant clinical area/s, public health, health service leadership, or project management/research.
  • Experience/credentialled for providing professional supervision.
  • Current Driver’s Licence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and professional support to team leaders, clinicians, and administrative staff within the FVCSS.
  • Assist the Statewide Manager FVCSS with coordination and management of statewide services.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Operate with a significant degree of professional independence and autonomy under the broad direction of the Manager FVCSS.
