About The Position

The E-Commerce Assistant Manager supports daily operations of the e-commerce department by ensuring production, quality, and shipping standards are consistently met. This role supervises team members, drives daily execution, and maintains operational consistency while working alongside staff to meet departmental goals. Operating in a dual role, the Assistant Manager provides leadership through supervision, coaching, and accountability, while also performing production functions to support workflow and team performance. This position has authority to assign work, provide coaching, and recommend disciplinary action in accordance with agency policy. This role supports the mission of Improving People’s Lives Through the Power of Work by translating goals into daily action that drives performance and creates meaningful work opportunities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • A minimum of two (2) years of retail, production, or e-commerce experience
  • At least one (1) year of supervisory or team lead experience required
  • Typing speed of at least 40 words/min required
  • Valid Louisiana driver’s license and proof of personal automobile insurance.
  • Employee must have reliable transportation or access to a vehicle available for emergency response.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.

  • Proficiency with computers, reporting, and online systems

Responsibilities

  • Perform production duties alongside team members to meet daily goals, including sorting, evaluating, researching, preparing, photographing, listing, and shipping items for e-commerce sale.
  • Ensure items are accurately described, properly photographed, and listed to meet quality and platform standards.
  • Maintain organized workflow from intake through listing, storage, and shipping, ensuring accurate tracking and attribution of items.
  • Meet or exceed established productivity and quality standards for both individual and team performance.
  • Hold team members accountable to productivity, quality, and behavioral expectations through coaching, feedback, and follow-up.
  • Contribute to department revenue, sell-through, and average sale price goals, supporting overall budget and KPI achievement.
  • Plan and assign daily production goals and tasks based on department priorities.
  • Monitor workflow and production output to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and timely completion of orders.
  • Review inventory flow, including incoming, listed, unsold, and returned items, to maintain consistent throughput.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision of processors, including working alongside team members to model expectations and reinforce standards.
  • Train, coach, and support employees in job duties, performance expectations, and proper procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to agency policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Monitor customer feedback and ensure timely, professional responses and resolution of issues.
  • Ensure accurate entry and tracking of sales, shipping, and production data.
  • Monitor listing quality and maintain organized systems for inventory and workflow management.
  • Enforce safety practices and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Ensure timely reporting of incidents and adherence to inventory control and asset protection procedures.
  • Address policy violations and escalate as needed.
  • Act as Manager in absence of E-Commerce Manager.
  • Support scheduling, reporting, and operational planning.
  • Assist with store training efforts, including occasional travel to retail locations to reinforce standards for identifying, preparing, and packaging e-commerce items.
  • Attends required training sessions and meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the effective operation of the department and Agency mission.
