About The Position

Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort is seeking a Dual Rate Food & Beverage Cashier. This position involves greeting guests, providing excellent service, processing payments, and assisting team members to ensure overall guest satisfaction. The role requires operating a cash register, settling checks, and handling various payment methods. Depending on the department, responsibilities may extend to cooking, controlling food production, taking orders, managing bankrolls, and ensuring timely delivery of services. The position also involves maintaining a clean work area, resolving guest complaints, and adhering to all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • RASP certification is required (can be completed within 30 days of hire).
  • Able to attend to multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Legible handwriting.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly.
  • Ability to talk to others to convey information effectively.
  • Willing to learn and be adaptable with attention to detail/observant.
  • Documented teamwork behaviors and attitudes.
  • Neat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygiene.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grasp items.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly upon entry and seat them according to the rotation schedule.
  • Operate a cash register and properly settle all guest checks.
  • Receive payment by cash, credit cards, comps, or automatic debits.
  • Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to guests.
  • Record tips from credit cards, automatic debits, and comp guests.
  • Keep the work area neat and clean.
  • Assist guests by providing information and resolving their complaints.
  • Balance the register at the end of the shift.
  • Build relationships with guests and demonstrate superior guest service skills.
  • Maintain an upbeat and positive attitude, creating an atmosphere of luck and positive energy.
  • Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas and complete other general cleaning duties.
  • Assist in clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables.
  • Provide a warm farewell and thank the guest for visiting.
  • Participate as a member of the team by volunteering and being involved with projects, committees, and task forces.
  • Adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies/procedures in an ethical manner.

  • Control food production to include: proper cooking methods, cooking time, and temperature, ensuring sanitation, handling, and storage of prepared food and leftovers as needed (EDR Cashier).
  • Accept responsibility for cash register bankroll, all cash received, credit card charges, complimentary receipts, and charges to rooms (Room Service Cashier).
  • Maintain knowledge of current menu items and pricing, how items are prepared, and what accompanies each meal (Room Service Cashier).
  • Take guests' food and beverage orders in a timely, cordial, and professional manner, noting any special requests, obtaining needed approvals/verifications as necessary, and processing all orders using the computer system (Room Service Cashier).
  • Assure timely delivery of comp requests from VIP Services and other casino departments (Room Service Cashier).
  • Keep accurate log entries for all call-down orders, special requests, and hotel guest charge records (Room Service Cashier).
  • Verify guest room numbers and estimated time of arrival for delivery of amenities (Room Service Cashier).
  • Dispatch and track service person availability for orders and assign deliveries, as well as tray pick (Room Service Cashier).
  • Notify management of any guest complaints, alleged discrepancies, and/or problems involving Room Service (Room Service Cashier).
  • Assist in the routine inspections and monthly inventories of room service equipment, china, flatware, linen, etc. (Room Service Cashier).
