About The Position

ITC Service Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of AFL, provides managed services and workforce solutions for the planning, design, construction, installation, and maintenance of voice, data, and video networks. ITC is hiring motivated individuals for its fiber splicing team. Telecom industry experience is preferred but not required; the company provides training in fiber-optic splicing. The work includes underground and aerial splicing and running fiber drops for residential and commercial customers. Experience operating trenching machines is a plus. The company provides a vehicle, gas, cell phone, tablet, and uniform reimbursement. Starting pay is $23.00 per hour, and the posting advertises a $2,000 hiring bonus.

Requirements

Valid state driver’s license and a non-negligent driving record.
Pass a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol screen.
Ability to carry, handle, and climb 28-foot ladders.
Ability to work at heights, including splicing fiber on utility poles and strands.
Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds and perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods.
Ability to visually perceive differences in wire and cable colors.
Ability to work flexible hours; workdays may exceed normal hours, and weekend and holiday work may be required.
Ability to stand, talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjustment of focus.

Responsibilities

Operate trenching equipment such as a mini skid steer or walk-behind trencher.
Splice fiber-optic cable underground and aerially, including on utility poles and strands.
