Early Mornings DSP:$2000 HIRING BONUS
About The Position
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at LSS, you support people with identified needs as they pursue their hopes, dreams, and goals through person-centered care. The role is based in a residential group home setting supporting up to four people, as part of a collaborative, mission-driven team focused on dignity, respect, and inclusion. The position pays $17.50 per hour, with an opportunity to increase to $18.00 per hour after six months of consistent employment. A $2,000 hiring bonus is available to eligible employees. The stated shifts are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., and every other weekend, 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. No prior experience or formal education is required; LSS provides paid orientation and ongoing training. The role may suit caregivers and others interested in careers in social work, nursing, healthcare, human services, psychology, or nonprofits.
Requirements
- A genuine interest in helping people with identified needs pursue their hopes, dreams, and goals through person-centered care.
- No prior experience or formal education is required.
- Comfort with basic computer use for documenting care and communicating with the team.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- A valid driver's license and safe driving record, and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Check.
- Ability to pass a DHS background check.
- For hiring-bonus eligibility: work at least 40% FTE, stay current on all trainings, maintain employment in good standing, and work all scheduled shifts.
Responsibilities
- Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, meals, household support and cleaning, and transportation.
- Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills.
- Advocate for the rights, needs, and preferences of people with identified needs.
- Monitor health and well-being and report changes as needed.
- Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings.
