About The Position

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at LSS, you will provide person-centered support to people with identified needs as they pursue their hopes, dreams, and goals. The role involves building meaningful relationships and helping people with daily living, community participation, social connections, and independent living skills. Pay is $16.00 per hour, with an opportunity to increase to $16.50 per hour after six months of consistent employment. A $2,500 hiring bonus is offered to eligible employees who meet the stated requirements. The position is based in a residential group home supporting up to four people. Team members work collaboratively in a mission-driven environment focused on dignity, respect, and inclusion. LSS provides paid orientation and ongoing training, and opportunities to grow within its services.

Requirements

A genuine interest in helping and supporting people with identified needs through person-centered care.
No prior experience or formal education is required; training and support are provided.
Comfort with basic computer use for documenting care and communicating with the team.
Ability to read and write in English.
Valid driver's license and a safe driving record; must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Check.
Must be able to pass a DHS background check.

Responsibilities

Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support.
Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, meals, household support and cleaning, and transportation.
Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills.
Advocate for the rights, needs, and preferences of people with identified needs.
Monitor health and well-being and report changes as needed.
Complete required documentation.
Participate in training and team meetings.
