About The Position

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at LSS, you support people with identified needs as they pursue their hopes, dreams, and goals through person-centered care. The role is based in a residential group home supporting up to four people and is part of a collaborative, mission-driven team focused on dignity, respect, and inclusion. Pay is $17.00 per hour, with an opportunity to increase to $17.50 per hour after six months of consistent employment. A $2,500 hiring bonus is offered to eligible employees who work at least 40% FTE, stay current on training, remain in good standing, and work all scheduled shifts. No prior experience or formal education is required; LSS provides training and support. The role may suit caregivers and others interested in pursuing careers in social work, nursing, healthcare, human services, psychology, or nonprofits.

Requirements

A genuine interest in helping and supporting people with identified needs through person-centered care.
Comfort with basic computer use for documenting care and communicating with the team.
Ability to read and write in English.
A valid driver's license and safe driving record; must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Check.
Ability to pass a DHS background check.
To qualify for the hiring bonus: work at least 40% FTE, remain current on all trainings, maintain employment in good standing, and work all scheduled shifts.

Responsibilities

Build meaningful relationships and provide guidance, encouragement, and support.
Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, meals, household support and cleaning, and transportation.
Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills.
Advocate for the rights, needs, and preferences of people with identified needs.
Monitor health and well-being and report changes as needed.
Complete required documentation.
Participate in training and team meetings.
