Awake Overnight DSP with $2500 Hiring Bonus
About The Position
LSS is seeking an Awake Overnight Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide person-centered care to people with identified needs as they pursue their hopes, dreams, and goals. The role is based in a residential group home supporting up to four people, within a collaborative team focused on dignity, respect, and inclusion. Pay is $17.00 per hour, with an opportunity to increase to $17.50 per hour after six months of consistent employment. A $2,500 hiring bonus is available to eligible team members who meet the stated requirements. The position supports daily living, community participation, social connection, health and well-being, and independent living skills. No prior experience or formal education is required; paid training is provided during orientation and throughout employment. Hiring-bonus eligibility requires working at least 40% FTE, staying current on all trainings, maintaining employment in good standing, and working all scheduled shifts.
Requirements
- A genuine passion for helping others and supporting people with identified needs through person-centered care.
- No prior experience or formal education is required.
- Comfort with basic computer use for documenting care and communicating with the team.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record; must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Check.
- Must be able to pass a DHS background check.
Responsibilities
- Build meaningful relationships and provide guidance, encouragement, and support.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, meals, household support and cleaning, and transportation.
- Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills.
- Advocate for the rights, needs, and preferences of people with identified needs.
- Monitor health and well-being and report changes as needed.
- Complete required documentation.
- Participate in training and team meetings.
