Drop (Splicing) Technician - Fiber

About The Position

ITC is seeking motivated individuals to join its fiber splicing team. Telecommunications industry experience is preferred but not required, and training will be provided in fiber-optic cable splicing. The role includes underground and aerial splicing and running fiber drops for residential and commercial customers. Compensation is $20 per hour plus a performance-based bonus. The company provides a vehicle, gas, cell phone, tablet, and uniform.

Requirements

Telecommunications industry experience is preferred but not required.
Ability to operate trenching equipment such as a mini skid steer or walk-behind trencher.
Ability to carry, handle, and climb 28-foot ladders.
Ability to work at heights, including splicing fiber on utility poles and strands.
Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds.
Ability to work flexible hours; workdays may exceed normal hours, and weekend and holiday work may be required.
Valid state driver’s license and non-negligent driving record.
Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol screen.
Ability to visually distinguish wire and cable colors.
Ability to complete on-the-job and/or classroom training.
Ability to stand, talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
Skill in operating some of the listed tools and equipment and ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods.
Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
