Driving Instructor - CA

Coastline Automation Inc DBA Coastline Academy•Pleasanton, CA

About The Position

Coastline Academy is hiring a Driving Instructor to teach students practical driving skills, road rules, and safe driving habits in a company-provided vehicle. Most students are teenagers learning to drive, while some are adults preparing for a road test. Instructors build students’ confidence and competence and document their progress after each lesson. Vehicles are clearly marked, equipped with a second instructor brake, inspected by certified mechanics, and fitted with dashcams recording video and audio inside and outside the car. The role includes 60 hours of paid training: 40 hours of self-paced virtual learning and 20 hours of hands-on driving and mentorship. The practical component includes shadowing 10 hours of live in-car lessons and receiving 10 hours of direct coaching from a Certified Trainer. Instructors do not conduct lessons alone with students until they are ready. Schedules follow student demand, which is concentrated in afternoons and weekends. A typical day consists of three two-hour lessons. Instructors also communicate with their supervisor and support team and participate in team meetings, updates, and ongoing development.
