Driving Instructor in Training-CA

Coastline Automation Inc DBA Coastline Academy•Los Angeles, CA

About The Position

Coastline Academy is hiring a Driving Instructor in Training to teach students practical driving skills and help them become safe, confident drivers. Instructors teach from the passenger seat of a company-provided vehicle equipped with a second instructor brake and inspected by certified mechanics. Lessons are recorded by dashcams that capture video and audio inside and outside the car. The company pays for certification and provides coursework and guidance through state driving instructor licensing requirements. Training consists of 60 paid hours: 40 hours of self-paced virtual learning and 20 hours of hands-on driving and practical mentorship. The hands-on portion includes shadowing 10 hours of live lessons and completing 10 hours of direct coaching with a Certified Trainer. Trainees do not conduct lessons alone with a student until they are ready. Work schedules follow student demand, which is concentrated in afternoons and weekends. A typical day consists of three two-hour lessons.
