Driving Instructor in Training-CA

Coastline Automation Inc DBA Coastline Academy•Pasadena, CA

About The Position

Coastline Academy is hiring a Driving Instructor in Training to teach students practical driving skills and road rules, build their confidence, and help them become safe drivers. Instructors teach in company-provided, clearly marked vehicles equipped with a second instructor brake and inspected by certified mechanics. Lessons are recorded by dashcams that capture video and audio inside and outside the vehicle. The role includes 60 paid training hours: 40 hours of self-paced virtual reading and interactive modules, plus 20 hours of hands-on driving and mentorship. The hands-on training includes shadowing 10 hours of live in-car lessons and receiving 10 hours of direct coaching from a Certified Trainer. Trainees do not conduct lessons alone with students until they are ready. Schedules follow student demand, which is concentrated in afternoons and weekends because many students are in school. A typical day consists of three two-hour lessons.
