About The Position

Medical Diagnostic Laboratories (MDL), a member of Genesis Biotechnology Group, is seeking a part-time Driver to pick up medical specimens from health care facilities. MDL is a CLIA-certified clinical laboratory specializing in automated DNA-based molecular analysis, including PCR testing in infectious disease and other areas. The Driver follows routes set by the Dispatch Office, retrieves specimens from specimen boxes and health care facilities, and coordinates with the local coordinator to package specimens for overnight delivery to MDL’s laboratories in Hamilton, New Jersey, or to deliver them to a predetermined location. The role also involves communicating route changes and problems, making additional pickups when required, and providing route assistance in the NJ, PA, DE, and MD area as needed. A company vehicle is provided. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The position requires safe motor-vehicle operation, the ability to drive long distances, outdoor loading and unloading, indoor driving or paperwork, and interaction with people at pickup locations. The Driver must maintain a professional appearance, follow motor vehicle laws, and work independently as well as collaboratively.

Responsibilities

Drive to doctor offices, hospitals, labs, and other locations on routes specified by the Dispatch Office to pick up medical specimens.
Retrieve specimens from specimen boxes and health care offices or facilities.
Answer calls from the Dispatch Office or local coordinator about route changes.
Communicate problems and concerns to the Dispatch Office or local coordinator as they arise.
Maintain a professional appearance.
Work with the local coordinator to package specimens for overnight delivery to MDL laboratories in Hamilton, New Jersey.
Work with the local coordinator to deliver specimens to a predetermined location daily.
Make additional specimen pickups outside the normal route when requested by the Dispatch Office or local coordinator.
Work independently and as a team player.
Obey all motor vehicle laws.
Provide route assistance throughout the NJ, PA, DE, and MD area as needed.
