About The Position

The Driver Manager supports terminal operations by managing and developing drivers, promoting safe and compliant operations, and helping maintain strong service performance across the fleet. The role requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, relationship-building, and the ability to hold drivers accountable to company standards and expectations. This position supervises drivers at the assigned terminal location.

The position works primarily in an indoor office environment. It involves mostly sitting, some walking, and the ability to speak, hear, and see clearly to perform the responsibilities.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of DOT and federal regulations.
• Tanker industry experience.
• Experience in transportation, operations, dispatch, or driver management environments.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Train and counsel drivers on safety, hours of service requirements, fuel compliance, excessive idling, and company policies and procedures.
• Use company tools to perform periodic driver reviews.
• Monitor and manage driver productivity.
• Maintain proactive communication with dispatch centers.
• Manage on-time service performance of the terminal fleet.
• Support company goals related to driver retention.
• Promote and maintain a strong commitment to safety in daily operations.
• Coordinate and ensure drivers remain current on DOT, OSHA, and company training requirements.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new employees.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Supervise drivers at the assigned terminal location.
