Requirements

• One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
• Two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public
• Active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver’s License or equivalent
• Twenty-one years of age at the time of application
• No suspensions or revocations of a driver’s license during the five year period immediately preceding employment
• Must obtain an active unrestricted Class M driver’s license within the first six months of employment or before the end of the probationary period and maintain it during employment (for employees hired after February 28, 2022)
• Meet the PA residency requirement
• Able to perform essential job functions
• Undergo and pass a Fingerprint and Name-Based Criminal History Check prior to employment

Responsibilities

• Determine driving qualifications and inspect vehicles for required safety features
• Conduct knowledge, vision, pre-trip, skills, and driving tests following established standards
• Review identity records, authenticate documents, and identify possible fraud
• Issue license products and provide guidance on renewals, transfers, and license types
• Enter test results, process applications, and prepare restoration requirement letters
• Follow REAL ID rules, fee waiver guidelines, and customer service standards
