Requirements
- One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
- Two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public
- An active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver’s License or equivalent
- Twenty-one years of age at the time of application
- No suspensions or revocations of a driver’s license during the five year period immediately preceding employment
- Possession of an active Class A Pennsylvania Commercial Driver's License or equivalent with P and N endorsements
- Commercial Driver License cannot have any of the following restrictions: E, L, N, O, or Z
- Meet the PA residency requirement
- Able to perform essential job functions
- Undergo and pass a Fingerprint and Name-Based Criminal History Check prior to employment
Nice To Haves
- Active unrestricted Class M driver’s license (must be obtained within the first six months of employment or before the end of the probationary period and maintained during employment for employees hired after February 28, 2022)
Responsibilities
- Determine driving qualifications and check vehicle conditions for safety
- Conduct CDL and non CDL knowledge, pre trip, and road tests
- Examine identity documents to identify fraud and confirm authenticity
- Issue licenses, handle applications and provide service information
- Use databases to verify identity and eligibility for license products
- Follow REAL ID rules and all customer service policies
