Requirements

• One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.
• Active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver’s License or equivalent
• Twenty-one years of age at the time of application.
• No suspensions or revocations of a driver’s license during the five year period immediately preceding employment.
• Must obtain an active unrestricted Class M driver’s license within the first six months of employment or before the end of the probationary period and maintain it during employment.
• Meet the PA residency requirement.
• Able to perform essential job functions.
• Undergo and pass a Fingerprint and Name-Based Criminal History Check prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Determine applicant qualifications and evaluate vehicle condition for safe operation
• Administer vision, knowledge, and road tests according to established standards
• Examine identity and residency documents to verify authenticity and detect fraud
• Issue driver license products and provide information on renewals and requirements
• Access databases to authenticate documents and confirm licensing eligibility
