Requirements

One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.
Active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver’s License or equivalent
Twenty-one years of age at the time of application.
No suspensions or revocations of a driver’s license during the five year period immediately preceding employment.
Active unrestricted Class M driver’s license within the first six months of employment or before the end of the probationary period and maintain it during employment.
Active Class A Pennsylvania Commercial Driver's License or equivalent with P and N endorsements.
Commercial Driver License cannot have any of the following restrictions: E, L, N, O, or Z.
Meet the PA residency requirement.
Able to perform essential job functions.
Submission of criminal history reports.
Undergo and pass a Fingerprint and Name-Based Criminal History Check prior to employment.

Responsibilities

Check applicant driving abilities and inspect vehicles for required safety features
Administer vision tests using approved tools and methods
Conduct written examinations to confirm understanding of the Vehicle Code and traffic signs
Examine personal records and use systems to verify identity and detect fraud
Process applications and provide guidance on renewals, transfers, motorcycle licenses, and CDL requirements
Follow REAL ID procedures, customer service policies, fee waiver rules, and Title VI standards
