About The Position
This is a non-safety sensitive position where the Driver Helper will be responsible for loading, securing, and unloading merchandise from loading docks and delivery trucks. The role involves planning routes, meeting delivery times, and utilizing excellent customer relations. The employee will also be responsible for checking daily assignments and any other duties directed by management. A key aspect of the role is quickly gaining knowledge of merchandise and documentation related to store-to-store transfers and third-party shipments.
Requirements
- Ability to repetitively lift heavy merchandise of 50 lbs.
- Flexibility for long haul assignments
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members
- Positive attitude when working with internal and external customers
- Knowledge of employment merchandise handling, and safety procedures.
Responsibilities
- Loading merchandise, securing the merchandise and unloading merchandise from the loading docks and delivery truck at specified locations.
- Planning routes and meeting delivery times.
- Quickly gain knowledge of merchandise and documents used in the store-to-store transfer process, as well as third party shipment of loads.
- Check daily assignments and responsibilities.
- Use excellent customer relations with both internal and external customers.
- Any other duties as directed by management.
