Driver and Crew Member
About The Position
Natures Image is seeking a Driver & Crew Member to join its operations team. Reporting to the Crew Foreman, this role performs physically demanding driving, landscaping, and related field work. The position requires a valid California driver's license, an excellent driving record, the ability to use physical strength and coordination, and the ability to understand and communicate information and follow safety guidelines. The employee inspects trucks before and after trips, operates company equipment safely, reports mechanical issues, and follows company safety policies. Field duties include preparing and cleaning job sites, landscaping, irrigation, maintenance, hydroseeding, vegetation removal, and installations. The role uses hand tools and small equipment, including powered landscaping equipment when required, and is responsible for completing assigned tasks safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. Personal protective equipment and safety procedures must be followed at all times. The position is full-time, with an 8-hour day shift Monday through Friday. The wage is $19.00–$21.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Requirements
- Valid California driver's license and an excellent driving record.
- Knowledge of current driving regulations and compliance with safety laws and regulations.
- Ability to act quickly and calmly in emergency situations and follow safety and emergency procedures.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to listen to, understand, and follow directions.
- Ability to work in a variety of roles and in a professional manner.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
- Physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina to complete assigned work.
- Ability to lift and carry, and push and/or pull, loads up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk, including on uneven surfaces, for up to eight hours per day.
- Manual dexterity to operate machinery and equipment.
- Ability to work in inclement weather, including heat and humidity, and tolerate exposure to dust and noise.
- Completion of E-Verify, background check, drug screen, and physical screening.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in commercial landscaping or construction.
- Experience operating power equipment.
Responsibilities
- Inspect trucks before and after trips and submit inspection reports.
- Operate company-driven equipment safely.
- Report mechanical failures, breakdowns, and equipment in need of repair to the Foreman or supervisor.
- Follow company safety and corporate policies, safety procedures, and emergency procedures.
- Perform assigned work safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
- Clean and prepare job sites, including digging trenches, clearing weeds, and removing rubble, debris, and trash.
- Perform landscaping, irrigation, maintenance, hydroseeding, vegetation removal, and installation work.
- Use hand tools, small equipment, and powered equipment as required.
- Wear personal protective equipment and follow safety procedures at all times.
- Report issues to a supervisor or higher-level employee.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
